Iran Press/ Iran news: The main objective of holding ICOPMAS 2022 was to provide a forum for the exchange of experiences and views of those involved in coasts and ports engineering and marine projects from different countries and be informed about their latest scientific, technical, and experimental achievements.
It should be said that (ICOPMAS 2022) is an opportunity for experts, consultants, and manufacturers of port and marine equipment for presenting their capabilities.
The (ICOPMAS 2022) will be run till May 10, 2023.
ICOPMAS is a biennial event that provides appropriate grounds to exchange the latest scientific innovations and technical achievements. It also involves a technical exhibition for the professionals engaged in navigation, ports and waterways worldwide to develop the Coastal and Marine Structure knowledge.
Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mehrdad Bazrpash in his remarks in the opening ceremony of the 14th International Conference on Coasts, Ports and Marine Structures, stressed the pivotal role of the maritime economy in enhancing overseas trade.
Highlighting thousands of kilometers of Iran's coastlines in the south, Bazrpash said that Iran has a length of over 1,850 kilometers of coastline, and with the addition of islands, it reaches a total length of 5,800 kilometers of coastline."
The strategic conditions such as 35 islands and 5,800 km length of coastline have created "unique conditions for the country's coastal economy," the high-ranking official stated.
The minister added: "In this critical situation the country is facing, enemies are not willing to witness Iran's economic achievements, due to Iran's insistence on its positions."
Pointing out the will of foreign diplomats to establish economic ties with Iran, Bazrpash exposed his surprise from the foreign investment proposals to increase business relationships.
"Creation of investment opportunities, and the connection of foreign investors to the provinces without coasts provides incredible progress, which is in our "economic agenda", he concluded.
