Iran Press/Asia: Addressing the ground-breaking ceremony of Iran-Baku bus manufacturing company in Hajigabul Town, southern Baku, Reza Rahmani said suitable bilateral economic talks were held between Iran and Azerbaijan.
He added that both sides are interested in promoting economic relations, IRNA reported.
Referring to Iran and Azerbaijan geographical positions in the region and the suitable location in North-South International Corridor, he called for taking advantage of transportation infrastructures in the region.
Rahmani also pointed to both sides’ determination for maintaining the joint investment, and said creating a joint industrial zone at border areas was also reviewed to pave the way for Iranian and Azeri investors.
Describing Azerbaijan as an important trade partner for Iran in the region, he said it ranked first as regard Iran’s cooperation with Central Asian and the Caucasus.
He reiterated that Iran and Azerbaijan enjoy strategic political ties. Rahmani arrived in Baku on Thursday on a two-day official visit to explore avenues for enhancing the two countries’ cooperation and implementing economic projects.
Rahmani earlier on Thursday conferred with Azeri President Ilham Aliyev on issues of mutual interests along with regional developments.
The Iranian minister also appreciated the relief aid sent by Azerbaijan to flood-stricken people in Iran and underlined implementation of the already signed agreements on economy, industry and investment opportunities. 104
