Iran Press/ Iran news: Alireza Enayati, Director General of the Persian Gulf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who traveled to Beijing last week at the head of a delegation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs in order to take the final step in the implementation of the agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia, told the Iran Press reporter about the details of the agreement.
Enayati said: A private round of discussion and a round of public talks between Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hossein Amir Abdollahian and Saudi Arabia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Faisal bin Farhan was held in Beijing. According to this agreement, necessary measures are being taken to reopen embassies and exchange ambassadors.
He added: Emphasis on the implementation of agreements made between the parties in the past years, including security, economic, cultural and sports agreements, are among other mentioned parts in the agreement.
Referring to the air transport agreement between the two countries, Enayati highlighted: It was decided to resume the flights of the two countries, which defines the people-to-people relationship in the relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia. Providing the necessary facilities for the travel of nationals, issuing visas and resuming Umrah are among the other items in this agreement.
Enayati, who is mentioned as the main choice as Iran's ambassador to Saudi Arabia, pointed to the Yemen crisis, saying: We always stressed this issue in the agreement and said that Yemen does not have a solution called war, and Iran has supported the ceasefire in Yemen. The issue of Yemen must be resolved by the Yemenis themselves.
The Director General of the Persian Gulf Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized: The capacities of Iran and Saudi Arabia are great and the relations between the two countries have diverse contexts. It is expected that according to what was mentioned in the final statement, the private and public sectors, due to the proximity of the two countries, benefit from the maximum economic capacity on both sides of the Persian Gulf.
Enayati added: Iran, as a transit bridge from the south of the Persian Gulf to the north, can contribute to the growth and prosperity of the region as a completely reliable route.
Security is pervasive and indivisible
Referring to the role of Iran and Saudi Arabia in providing security in the region, Enayati said: There are two approaches in providing security in the region; an Iranian approach that sees regional security as subordinate and in the hands of regional countries, and another approach that is currently being undertaken, the approach of militarism. We have always emphasized that militarism will not ensure security in the region and itself, is a disruption to security.
Security includes economy, trade and even people's movement, and the countries of the region can achieve stable security by cooperating with each other, he emphasized.
In the end, referring to the neighbor-oriented approach of the Raisi administration, Enayati stated: The Islamic Republic of Iran believes that relations are not selective and include the status of all countries, while all the obstacles in this direction must be removed, and accordingly, in the past two years. We had perfect relations with Kuwait, the level of relations with the UAE has been upgraded to the ambassador, and in terms of quality, relations with some countries such as Qatar and Oman have been improved.
