Taliban: We are looking for international aid to rebuild Afghanistan

A spokesman for the Taliban's political office in Qatar called on various countries to help rebuild different parts of Afghanistan.

Iran Press/ Middle East: Sohail Shaheen, a spokesman for Taliban political office in Qatar, said Afghanistan for the reconstruction of the country after years of occupation by foreign forces is seeking international help.

In an interview with China Television (CGTN), Shaheen asked for help in rebuilding various parts of Afghanistan.

"We have just come out of a period of war and destruction and we have entered a new phase, and at this stage, I think the people of Afghanistan need the help of other countries," he said, noting: "They should come forward and help us in the health sector, infrastructure, education, and various other sectors. They can come to discover our mines and natural resources. This is our general invitation to all countries, and we appreciate every country that has helped us at this critical juncture in our history."

The Taliban announced on August 15 that the war in Afghanistan was over and that they would soon announce the establishment of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. They also said they would take responsible steps to ensure the security of Afghans and foreign missions in the country.
