Iran Press/America: At the UN General Assembly session on Action against Human Trafficking, Majid Takht-e Ravanchi stated: "Iran, as one of the first signatories to the UN Convention against Transnational Organized Crime, has taken the necessary measures to implement the provisions of this Convention and its amendments to combat human trafficking."
"At the national level in Iran, there are numerous laws and legal instruments and regulations for the investigation and prosecution of cases related to human trafficking," he added.
The National Commission for Combating Human Trafficking has been established in the form of a set of executive and monitoring measures at Iran's Ministry of Interior to implement policies, strategies and programs related to human trafficking.
At the end of his address to the participants, Iran's envoy to the UN called on the international community to provide appropriate, accessible and effective technical assistance to countries in order to effectively combat this crime. 219
