Backed by heavy airstrikes, the Syrian Army was able to capture at least a half dozen sites from the jihadist rebels, forcing them to retreat further south towards the northern countryside of the Homs Governorate.
The jihadist rebels would attempt to recapture the localities they lost; however, their counter-offensive fell short of its intended target.
Since repelling the militant advance, the Syrian Army and rebel forces have entered into an agreement that would halt all of the fighting at this front, while the rebel groups negotiate a possible reconciliation.
