The Syrian army said its forces in the past few days captured 600 square km of the terrorist-held areas in Idlib and Aleppo, according to an army statement.
The Syrian army said on Sunday that it has captured 600 square km of areas including dozens of villages and towns as well as strategic hills over the past few days in the countryside region of Idlib and Aleppo provinces in northern Syria.
The military campaign has targeted the "terrorist groups which upped their aggression against civilians and residential areas," said the statement.
The Syrian army has for weeks been fighting the terrorists in the countryside of Idlib and Aleppo to secure the main highway linking Hama province in central Syria with Aleppo.
This highway also connects with the Damascus-Hama highway, which will enable the army to secure the main road between Damascus and Aleppo without reroutes.
