Iran Press/ Middle East: Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates described the recent Israeli aggression against Aleppo as one in a pattern of recurrent aggressions by "Israel" against civilian and vital targets including the Damascus international airport, Lattakia commercial port, and other civilian sites, SANA reported.
“Those Israeli hostile policies are nothing but disparate attempts to shuffle cards of the region and confuse the diplomatic current movement, this movement which aims to restore security and stability to the region,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
In a statement, the ministry expressed its severe condemnations of the aggression which resulted in the martyrdom of one soldier and the injury of seven others including two civilians. The ministry also warned "Israel" against continuing these attacks and called upon the United Nations and the Security Council to assume their responsibility to put an end to Israel's hostile policies.
Furthermore, Rear Admiral Oleg Gurinov, the deputy head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria reported on the Israeli aggression which killed a Syrian soldier.
"On May 1, from 23.32 to 23.37, two tactical fighters F-16 of the Israeli Air Force launched missile and bomb attacks on civilian infrastructure in the province of Aleppo. As a result of the strike, the runway of the international airport was out of service, one person was killed, and seven were injured."
Late Monday night more than five airstrikes targeted the vicinity of Aleppo.
The aggression targeted the vicinity of Aleppo International Airport and the town of As-Safirah in the southern countryside of Aleppo.
Syrian-state news agency SANA said the Syrian air defenses intercepted the Israeli aggression on Aleppo and successfully shot down several missiles.
Al-Mayadeen's correspondent further stated that the damage resulting from the Israeli airstrikes put the airport out of service.
In the last attack on March 9th, The Syrian Ministry of Transport announced the resumption of air traffic through Aleppo International Airport tomorrow after repairing the damage caused by the Israeli aggression on March 7.
