Damascus (IP) - The Islamic Republic of Iran and the Syrian Arab Republic discussed prospects of bilateral cooperation in the area of communications and information technology.

Iran PressMiddle East: In a meeting with the Syrian Minister of Communications and Technology Iyad al-Khatib in Damascus on Wednesday, the Advisor to the Minister of Communications and Information Technology Hossein Mirzapour stressed Iran's readiness to offer all support required to positively reflect on the communication sector in Syria.

For his part, al-Khatib underlined the importance of enhancing cooperation ties with Iran in the communication field along with the infrastructure.

He said the Iranian side has excellent experience in this area.

"Syria attaches great importance to exchanging expertise for the benefit of the two peoples," he concluded.
