Syria has called on the United Nations Security Council and asked to condemn the attacks of the Israeli occupation on Syrian sovereignty.

Iran PressIran news: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Syria said in a letter addressed on Saturday to the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the President of the UN Security Council that at 20:23 p.m on Friday, the Israeli occupation army launched air aggression with bursts of missiles from over the Mediterranean, West of Banias, targeting some points in the central region.

This brutal Israeli aggression caused the martyrdom of five people, including one civilian, and the injury of seven citizens, including a child, in addition to causing material damage, the letter read.

The Ministry added that this Israeli aggression came hours after another aggression committed by terrorists in northern Syria when they attacked the units of the Syrian Arab Army, which led to the martyrdom of ten soldiers and the injury of others which shows permanent coordination between Israel and its tools of terrorists.

The ministry added that Syria calls on the UN Secretary-General and the Security Council to issue a clear condemnation of this aggression, in line with the mandate of the Security Council to maintain international peace and security and implement United Nations resolutions related to ending the Israeli occupation of the occupied Syrian territories.

The Ministry urged the UN to demand that the Israeli aggressor abide by the relevant Security Council resolutions and the provisions of the Separation of Forces Agreement signed in Geneva on May 31, 1974, and to immediately and unconditionally stop threatening regional and international peace and security.

The Ministry concluded by saying, “The Syrian Arab Republic hopes the United Nations General Secretariat and the Security Council to adopt a clear position on the Israeli attacks on Syrian sovereignty away from politicized considerations and calculations that they contradict the well-established and clear legal and political position of the United Nations and its bodies toward the issue of the Israeli occupation of the Occupied Syrian Arab territories.
