Iran Press/Iran news: Addressing a huge crowd of Friday Prayer Worshippers in Tehran on Friday, the interim Friday prayers leader, Hojjat-ol-Islam Abu Torabi Fard stressed that in an Islamic society a booming economy is not the ultimate aim, rather the flourishing economy is an instrument for evolving and perfecting human beings.
He added: "In order to improve, upgrade, and strengthen human society, we must pay special attention to the economy and economic issues," Iran Press reported.
Commenting further on the economy, Hojjat-ol-Islam Abu Torabi Fard said the economy must not be dependent upon oil revenues and maximum consumption of citizens, rather the economy must be based upon science and technology, and managed properly. There needs to be a correct management of consumption.
He added: "The parliament (Majlis) must also pay attention to this issue".
Turning to the budget for the new Iranian year 1398 (corresponding to 2019) Tehran's interim Friday Prayers leader said MPs in parliament are currently reviewing the budget for next year, and the budget bill is like a road map for the country for the next twelve months.
In further remarks, Hojjat-ol-Islam Abu Torabi Fard said: "The importance and significance of the Budget can be gleaned from the fact that many analysts insist on reading the budget before they present their political or economic analysis of the country."
