The senior advisor to Iran’s foreign minister for special political affairs and special envoy of the UN secretary general for Syria have discussed the latest field and political developments in the Arab country.

Iran PressIran News: In a telephone conversation on Monday, Ali Asghar Khaji and Geir O. Pedersen discussed the painful humanitarian consequences and heavy material damage caused by the recent earthquakes in Syria.

Khaji and Pedersen underlined the need for facilitating the shipment of relief aid to the Syrian people and avoiding politicizing the issue.

Meanwhile, Khaji rejected sanctions and existing hurdles to the shipment of relief aid to Syria as inhumane, highlighting the hardships of the quake-hit people of Syria.

He further called for increasing and speeding up the dispatch of international humanitarian aid without any preconditions to Syria.
