Iran Press/ Iran news: Delivering a speech during a ceremony held on the occasion of “Day of the Seafarer", the deputy commander of the Iranian Navy Gholamreza Tahani referred to the oil tankers which were sent to Venezuela, saying that the sea shorten distances and connect nations.
Referring to the meaningful presence of sailors at sea, he stated that the navy strongly supports all seafarers snd sailors.
The Managing Director of Iran's Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) Mohammad Rastad said in this ceremony that one of the main responsibilities of PMO is supporting seafarers’ livelihood properly so that they can just focus on their mission when traveling.
He also referred to the difficult working condition of the regional fleet which is in charge of regional trade export and import, fishing fleet, oil fleet, and operational fleet which monitors both inbound and outbound ships.
Rastad also referred to training as one of the most important issues for sailors and seafarers which must not be neglected. At the end of the ceremony top seafarers especially the crews of oil tankers reaching Venezuela were given special prizes.
