Qom (IP) - The 7th anniversary of the martyrdom of Sheikh Nimr Baqir al-Nimr, a critic Saudi cleric, was commemorated in the city of Qom with the presence of foreign students.

Iran PressIran news: On January 2, 2016, the Saudi regime executed Sheikh Nimr Baqir al-Nimr, a prominent Shia cleric, at the age of 56, along with 46 other people. This action of the Saudi regime was widely condemned by the Islamic world.

The seventh anniversary of the martyrdom of Sheikh Nimr Baqir al-Nimr was held with the aim of honoring this martyr and other Saudi martyrs in the Imam Sadiq (AS) complex and with the presence of Saudi residents of Qom and their families.

Sheikh Abdullah al-Daqaq, the representative of the seminaries of Bahrain in Qom and other personalities of Bahraini, Iraqi and Saudi foreign students gave a speech at the martyrdom anniversary ceremony of Sheikh Nimr Baqir al-Nimr and discussed the dimensions of the life and personality of this cleric.

Sheikh Abdullah al-Daqaq said that the martyrs of Sheikh Nimr, Lt. Gen. Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis are the lights of guidance in the current era and showed the path of happiness to the Muslim nation and freedom seekers.
