Iran Press/ Europe: The eighth round of Vienna talks focusing on the lifting of oppressive and illegal sanctions against Iran resumed on Tuesday, February 8th, after a short break for political decision-making.
The Vienna talks have seen some progress due to the initiatives of the Iranian negotiating team, but Joe Biden's reluctance to compensate for the former US administration's illegal actions and the continuing of maximum pressure has cast doubt on the country's seriousness in returning to JCPOA.
"All assessments have been positive," Ulyanov said on Twitter, noting that members of the JCPOA and the United States (in Iran's absence) met this evening to assess the latest status of the Vienna talks.
An American delegation led by Robert Mali has traveled to Vienna to participate indirectly in the Vienna talks.
Last week, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, met with Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto in Tehran, emphasizing the definitive failure of the US administration's policy of maximum pressure and criticizing the inaction of the three European countries.
He stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran, based on national interests, will continue to participate in the negotiations with a serious determination to reach a good agreement, but reaching an agreement requires important decisions to be made by the Western parties, especially the United States. 219
