Iran PressEurope: Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of the "Wagner" military group  announced in a video that his forces had taken control of "Artemovsk" (Bakhmut) in eastern Ukraine, where the conflict has been going on for months.

Prigozhin claimed that "contrary to the statement of the spokesman of the Russian Ministry of Defense, we fought alone in this city", he said that the forces of the Wagner group will begin to leave Bakhmut on Thursday (May 25, 4th of Khordad) and hand over the city to the Russian army, Al Jazeera reported.

He said that his troops will leave Bakhmut from May 25 for rest and retraining and emphasized: We took the entire city house to house.

According to Reuters, when Prigozhin talks about the complete mastery of Bakhmut in the said video, the sound of explosions can be heard in the distance,

Wagner chief's statements come while the spokesman of the Eastern Command of Ukraine claims that the southwestern part of Bakhmut is still under the control of Ukrainian forces.

Bakhmut has been the focus of the longest and bloodiest battle of Russia's war in Ukraine, which is nearly at the end of its 15th month.
