Iran Press/Europe: A member of the State Duma’s international affairs committee, Antony Marozov said that by blacklisting the IRGC as a terrorist group, US president Donald Trump is jeopardizing the security of the Middle East region.
According to Iran Press, Marozov emphasized on Monday that the US action is contrary to the norms of international relations.
"Unfortunately, the US policy is not based on fighting Terrorists and on the other hand, Iran's IRGC plays an important role in stabilizing the region," Marozov reiterated.
Criticizing the US for intervening in other countries' internal affairs with the aim of endangering the stability of those countries, Marozov said: "Trump's decision on IRGC will be inconclusive, and Americans have repeatedly sanctioned Iran and Russia, but these actions are illegal and contrary to the United Nation's Charter."

The member of the Russian Duma’s international affairs committee added: "While we must confront all terrorists, the US divides them into good and bad terrorists, and uses them to suppress and weaken the countries who are opposed to US policies."
Pointing to the situation in Syria and the eight-year civil war in that country, Marozov added: "We have witnessed US destabilizing actions in Syria. By delivering thousands of weapons to the Syrian opposition, they paved the way for terrorists and extremist groups to flourish in the country."
US President Donald Trump has designated Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization.
This is the first time Washington formally labeled another country's military a terrorist group, RT reported.
The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps has a key role in fighting the US-backed terrorist groups in the region.
The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) is providing advisory assistance to fight the Takfiri-terrorist groups in Iraq and Syria following official requests from governments in Baghdad and Damascus, an action that is by no means appealing to the president of the United States, Donald Trump.
