Iran Press/ Iran News: Lake Urmia is the most important tourist attraction of West Azerbaijan province. The restoration of the lake, in addition to preserving the environment and continuity of life, also helps develop tourism in northwest Iran.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the mega water transfer project of the "Kani Sib" Dam to Lake Urmia on Friday, Iran's Minister of Energy Ali Akbar Mehrabian explained the efforts have been made for Urmia lake revival, in the Northwestern region of the country.
According to Mehrabian, the organizations and different ministries including Iran's Ministry of Energy, and the Iranian Department of Environment all cooperated to realize a mega water transfer project to Lake Urmia.
