Iran Press/ Iran News: Iran successfully launched its second military satellite, Noor-2, on Tuesday, 8 March, placing it in Leo orbit.
Noor 2, the first signals of which were successfully received by terrestrial stations, will orbit the earth once every 90 minutes and will pass Iran 16 times a day, with its mission lasting at least 3 years.
'Qased' carried Noor 2 to the space. The satellite carrier enjoys high-tech engines, lightweight composite bodies, and movable nozzle motors. The rocket is a three-phase one; the first phase goes with liquid fuel, the second phase with solid, and the third phase with an orbital injection motor.
In addition to defense applications, Noor 2 satellite can monitor natural incidents such as floods and earthquakes from a 500km distance.
Noor 1 also was launched into space and placed in orbit 425 km from the Earth, which is still in the orbit.
Iran's President Raisi who was speaking on his cabinet’s Sunday evening session praised the strong will of the Iranian armed forces, particularly the IRGC and the Communications Ministry complex, arguing that such advanced scientific signs of progress must continue vigorously. 219
