Damascus (IP) - Iranian President on Wednesday met the Syrian President in Damascus in a bid to boost cooperation between the two allies, state media reported.

Iran PressMiddle East: Ebrahim Raisi arrived at Damascus International Airport on a two-day official visit to Syria, accompanied by a ministerial political and economic delegation.

Raisi is scheduled to hold expanded political and economic talks with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, followed by signing a number of agreements.

Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Minister of Roads and City Construction, Chairman of the Joint Economic Committee, Mehrdad Bazr-Pash, Defense Minister, Mohammad Reza Ashtiani, Minister of Petroleum, Javad Owji, Minister of Information and Communications Technology Issa Zare'pour, Head of President's Office, Gholam Hossein Esmaeili, Parliament members Abbas Gulru, Deputy Chief of Staff for Political Affairs to the President,  Mohammad Jamshidi accompanying the president.

The official talks between Presidents, Bashar al-Assad and Ebrahim Raisi, started, in the presence of delegations of the two countries, at al-Shaab Palace.
