Tehran(IP)- In a message congratulating Recep Tayyip Erdogan for his victory in the Turkish presidential election, the Iranian president considered it as a sign of continued valuable trust of the Turkish people.

Iran PressIran news: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has won re-election, according to official data from state-run Anadolu Agency, in a tense run-off after he failed to secure more than 50 percent of votes required for an outright victory in the first round on May 14.

Declaring his victory in Türkiye's runoff election, Erdogan said: “We have completed the second round of presidential election with the favour of our nation,” Erdogan has said, expressing his gratitude to the nation.

With 97 percent of ballot boxes opened, Erdogan received 52.1 percent of votes in the second round on Sunday, beating his challenger, Kemal Kilicdaroglu, who won 47.9 percent.

Ebrahim Raisi In a message on Sunday congratulating Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his victory in the Turkish presidential election, expressed confidence that in the upcoming period of friendly relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Turkiye, based on strong historical and cultural ties, religion, good neighborliness, mutual respect and common interests of the two nations will further strengthen and close cooperation regarding the developments in the region.

Raisi also said that the Islamic world will provide more suitable conditions for strengthening the peace and stability and development of the region.
