Iran Press/Iran news: "In order to prevent a new wave of tension around the Iranian nuclear program, everything possible should be done to keep the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in force," Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday.
Russian President made the remarks at a meeting of the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) group of countries on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Buenos Aires, Iran Press reported.
US President Donald Tramp unilaterally withdrew from the JCPOA on May 8, 2018, flagrantly violating Washington's commitments under the international agreement while announcing re-imposition of illegitimate sanctions against Iran.
The US withdrawal was met with worldwide criticism, particularly by other signatories to the international agreement. Britain, France, Russia, China, Germany and the European Union have stressed their compliance with the deal and their support for its proper implementation.

Accordingly, Iran and Europe have begun talks to maintain the deal in recent weeks with Europe pledging to ensure Iran's benefits for the country to be able to remain a party to the deal and to counter the US-led pressure campaign against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Vladimir Putin said that the chemical attack carried out by terrorists on the city of Aleppo in Syria, must not go unpunished.

"Militants in Syria continue to attack government forces’ positions, and the attack they carried out against Aleppo city on November 24 using toxic chemicals is a blatant violation," Russian President concluded.
On Nov. 25, Iran foreign minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif has strongly denounced a chemical attack on the residential areas of the Syrian city of Aleppo and stressed, in West's pattern, the chemical attacks by its ally are not condemned.
For months, Syria has been planning a decisive operation to purge terrorists from the country.
Syrian government has been falsely accused of attacking civilians with chemicals in previous operations, including in Douma near Damascus and in Khan Sheikhun, in Idlib.
The United States, France and Britain earlier (April 14, 2018) attacked Syria using the pretext that the Syrian government had used chemical weapons against its own people. 101/201
