Iran Press/ Africa: Members of the group 'supporters of Sharia Islam' have demonstrated in Khartoum, Sudan's capital. Group members were almost involved in physical altercation with those taking part in a sit-in opposite the army headquarters in Khartoum and close to the presidential palace.
According to an Iran Press report, all streets leading to the presidential palace in Khartoum have been closed by the military, to prevent protesters from getting too close to the Presidential offices.
Members of the group 'supporters of Sharia Islam' chanted slogans calling for participation of all political groups in the administration of the country, and also called for implementation of Islamic laws (sharia laws) even during the current transitional period in the country.
Many political parties who are not part of the coalition of 'declaration of freedom and change' are opposed to any form of agreement or understanding between the coalition and Sudan's military council (military junta).
The head of Sudan's rapid reaction forces and the Deputy Head of the military council, 'Mohammad Hamdan Hamidati' has talked of the formation of technocratic government including independent politicians and figures in the near future. Hamidati said the military council, will continue to arrest corrupt officials associated with the former ousted regime of Omar Al Bashir, and the council will not seek assistance from anyone in carrying out this duty.
In further comments the Deputy Head of the military council said the council will not allow Sudanese politicians, with support and money from abroad to engage in policies which go against Sudan's national interests. Hamidati did not comment on Sudan's participation in the Saudi-imposed war in Yemen.203/211
