Iran Press/Iran news: On Thursday, Hassan Rouhani wrote on his Twitter account: "Maestro Mohammad Reza Shajarian, a prominent artistic figure, and creator of the most enduring pleasant Iranian songs and singer of Rabbana in Ramadan, left a valuable legacy."
"Certainly, the grateful nation of Iran will always keep the name, memory, and works of this popular artist alive in the memories," highlighted Rouhani.
In separate tweets and messages, Eshaq Jahangiri, Iranian first vice president, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Minister of Information and Communications Technology Mohammad-Javad Azari-Jahromi, and Minister of Health Saeed Namaki along with other Iranian officials extended their condolences on the loss of Iran's greatest maestro of Persian traditional music on Thursday.
Mohammad Reza Shajarian passed away this evening (Thursday) at Jam Hospital in Tehran after enduring a long illness. He was last admitted to the ICU of Jam Hospital on October 5, 2020, due to poor physical condition.
