Iran Press/ Iran News: The Sandinista National Liberation Front is a political party in Nicaragua. Its members are called Sandinistas in both English and Spanish.
The party is named after Augusto César Sandino, who led the Nicaraguan resistance against the United States' occupation of Nicaragua in the the1930s. Ebrahim Raisi, in a message to the President of Nicaragua, José Daniel Ortega Saavedra, congratulated him on the 43rd anniversary of the victory of the Sandinistas Revolution by the people of Nicaragua saying: "The deep bonds of friendship between the two nations of Iran and Nicaragua have brought about the exclusive opportunity for the promotion of interactions and cooperation between the two countries.
Iran's president expressed his hope that "under the shadow of continuous efforts and strong will of the governments of Iran and Nicaragua, we will witness a new experience of growth and development of bilateral relations in all areas."
