Tehran (IP): The Iranian President is scheduled to leave Tehran tomorrow for Tajikistan and Uzbekistan respectively.

According to Iran press, Ebrahim Raisi will visit Tajikistan on Wednesday morning (November 8) at the official invitation of Imam Ali Rahmon, the President of Tajikistan, for an official visit.

After the official welcome ceremony, the presidents of the two countries will have a private meeting and then participate in a joint meeting of economic activists and businessmen of Iran and Tajikistan.

During this visit, Iranian and Tajik authorities will also sign several joint cooperation documents.

Travel to Uzbekistan

After this trip, Ayatollah Raisi will also travel to Uzbekistan at the official invitation of the President of Uzbekistan Shaukat Mirzayev and to participate in the 16th summit of the ECO Economic Cooperation Organization.

The 16th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) is scheduled to take place on November 8–9, 2021, in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

During this trip, the president will also participate in the ECO summit and explain the positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and meet with a number of leaders and officials participating in the summit.

Consultations regarding bilateral cooperation, especially in the commercial and economic field, and international issues, especially the critical situation in Gaza, will be the focus of the bilateral talks of the president in this 2-day trip.

ECO is a governmental regional organization that was established in 1985 by Iran, Pakistan and Türkiye, aimed at  promoting economic, technical and cultural cooperation between the member countries.

In 1992, the organization accepted 7 new members, including the countries of Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, and now has 10 members.
