Iran Press/ Asia: On the sidelines of the 70th anniversary of Chinese navy ceremony and in his meeting with the Commander of the People's Liberation Army Navy, Shen Jinlong in Qingdao, Iranian commander said "The world should know that the trans-regional states' deployment in Northern Indian Ocean is meaningless, and collective security will be achieved only by cooperation among the regional states".
According to Iran Press, Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi added that "Due to the strategic geopolitical position, China’s presence in the Pacific and that of Iran in north of the Indian Ocean, has made arrogant powers to leave our maritime territories and there is no need for the presence of outsiders."
"The regional powers will certainly fill the security vacuum and there will be no need to foreigners' presence," Rear Admiral Khanzadi continued.
Recalling Iran and China's shared borders in ocean and sea, Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi continued that that the two countries should use it to boost training, technical and operational cooperation between themselves.
The Chinese commander, for his turn, voiced his country’s readiness for expanding naval ties with Iran.
Heading a high-ranking military delegation, Khanzadi began his trip upon an official invitation by his Chinese counterpart to attend the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy with increasing naval interaction atop his agenda of talks with Chinese officials.
China's naval celebrations are set to be held in waters off the Eastern Chinese city of Qingdao in Shandong Province on April 22- 25. 212/105/213
