Iranian Ambassador to France Bahram Qasemi

Tehran (IP) - The Iranian Ambassador to France said that playing multiple slyly games with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and the pretext of using UN resolutions to intensify pressure on Iran and damage its natural rights cannot be justified by any logic or criteria.

Iran PressEurope: Bahram Qasemi stated on Saturday night, "By withdrawing from JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action), the United States violates both the commitments under this agreement and Resolution 2231 in order to weaken the United Nations and even other JCPOA partners."

Qasemi added: "It is not acceptable for a country to withdraw from a treaty, both to violate its obligations and to seek forged and selective benefits."

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo recently claimed that Washington was a participant in Resolution 2231 and could call for an extension of Iran's arms embargo.

The UN Security Council's anti-Iran arms embargo was imposed in 2006 and 2007 to ban arms sales to Iran and arms exports from this country.

Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif also wrote on his Twitter page on Saturday that the United States, which is one of the world's largest arms dealers and military spenders in the world, is now worried about lifting Iran's arms embargo.
