Iran Press/Iran news: Managing Director of Ports and Maritime Organisation of Iran’s Hormozgan Province has said 'Air Raising Operation' as a new technology which has been developed inside Iran by experts and engineers in Hormozgan province, will expand Iran's share of the oil trade in the Persian Gulf.
Allah-Morad Afifipour said that with 'Air Raising' technology in Persian Gulf Port of Shahid Rajaee, we successfully managed to install scrubber on a super heavy oil tanker, Iran Press reported.
Managing Director of Hormozgan Province Ports and Maritime Organisation (PMO) said in Shahid Rajaee port a giant 40-thousand-ton scrubber was successfully installed on a super heavy oil tanker with 'Air Raising' technology.
Shahid Rajaee special economic zone is Iran's biggest trade port and is located near Bandar Abbas, 23 Kilometres to the north of Gheshm Island.
Engaging in trade and goods exchange with 80 important international ports, Shahid Rajaee port handles about a half of Iran's total trade.
Every year more than 51,000 Ocean-going ships pass through the strait of Hormoz and providing fuel for these ships has a great value in the world energy market.
"Shahid Rajaee Port is the golden gate to Iran's economy; about 53 percent of imports and exports, 70 percent of transit and loading and 85 percent of the container goods pass through the port," Allah-Morad Afifi-pour added.
Having 18 container cranes and 40 docks, Shahid Rajaee Port is the biggest container port in Iran.105/211/205
