(IP)- People in South Africa under the umbrella of the Global Gathering in Support of the Resistance, gathered at Pretoria city to condemn Israeli atrocities and war crimes against the people of Palestine.

The people stood up to defend their right to live in the world but faced the threat of being wiped out of existence by the Israeli regime with the support of the United States and other Western allies.

"Free free Palestine, from the river to the sea, Palestine will be freed, occupation is a crime, down with Israel," were the slogans chanted by the people who carried flags of Palestine and photos of resistance leaders such as martyr General Qassem Soleimani, and Secretary General of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

Some of the participants carried placards with the "Defend Al Aqsa, Defend Gaza, Defend Palestine," slogan on them, and some others with "Save our sacred land, occupation can never overcome resistance," and photos of the Israeli prime minister with the written slogan "Wanted" on it.

Among the activists that participated in the protest are the Former minister of intelligence,  Cde Ronnie Casrils, ANC youth league,  ANC Veterans league chairperson Dr Snuki Zikalala, NAFTU President Zwelinzima Vavi, and the coordinator of the Global Gathering in Support of the Choice of Resistance, Mhpo Maselemo.

In his speech at the gathering, the Egyptian resistance leader from Cairo, Mohammad Sayyed dared the Israeli army to confront Palestinian armed resistance fighters on the battlefield instead of striking residential buildings, schools, and hospitals killing civilians in Gaza.

"Do you think we are scared of you? You (Israelis) are cowards. Hamas is diligent. Israelis, if you are men, meet Hamas at the warfield today," "But we know, America dispenses money against all the Muslim ummah, but we tell them we will never give up, we are ready to die today not tomorrow. We are Muslims and we have belief in our hearts.

Palestinians told Israel "This is our land, this is our mosque, this is our place, we are going to defend them until the last minute of our lives," said the Egyptian Resistance leader.
