Palestinians hold rally in solidarity with hunger striking prisoners

Hundreds of Palestinians held a rally in the occupied West Bank in solidarity with their prisoners in the Zionist regime's prisons, some of whom are on hunger strike.

Iran Press/ Middle East: The Palestinians in the occupied West Bank expressed sympathy for those Palestinians imprisoned by the Israeli regime, and specially those prisoners who are on hunger strike to protest their detention without charge in the Zionist prisons.

According to Iran Press, participants in the rally which was held in front of the International Committee of the Red Cross office in Jenin, emphasized the need to try to free the prisoners, stopping incarceration without trial or charge, which is called 'administrative detention', and the widespread suppression of Palestinian prisoners by the Zionist regime.

Palestinian inmates regularly stage hunger strikes in protest at the administrative detention policy and harsh prison conditions in Israeli jails.

At least, 100 Palestinian prisoners have started an open ended hunger strike from Monday morning to highlight the plight of those on "administrative detention" and the total disregard of Israeli prison authorities in relation to their demands.

Many Palestinian prisoners are routinely subjected to physical and psychological torture and abuse, or inhumane treatment in Israel's notorious prisons.
