Iran PressAsia:  According to a statement released by the Prime Minister's office on Sunday, Shehbaz Sharif, who is en route to New York for the United Nations General Assembly, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of many miners' lives in Tabas.

In his message, Sharif conveyed his sympathy to President Pezeshkian, stating, “We stand in solidarity with the families of the victims and the injured. This painful incident deeply saddens us, and we extend our thoughts to the people and government of Iran during this difficult time.”

According to reports, the mine explosion in Tabas occurred last night at 9 PM, following a sudden methane gas emission in one of the tunnels of the Ma'danjo Coal Company.

At the time of the accident, 69 workers were inside sections C and B of the coal mine. Due to the high concentration of gas, which triggered an explosion at a depth of 250 meters vertically and 700 meters diagonally, rescue operations are underway, involving eight specialized teams.
