Iran Press/ Asia: In the meeting held on Thursday, various important issues were discussed, including cooperation in the fields of media, exchange of cultural delegations, along with such issues as bilateral trade relations, and Iran Expo 2024, between Iran and Pakistan.
Iran's ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam informed the Pakistani caretaker federal minister Murtaza Solangi regarding the opening of an Office of Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) in Islamabad.
The ambassador further added that the office will start its work in the third week of January next year.
He said the office will further promote cooperation in the field of information between the two countries.
The Pakistani caretaker Information Minister Murtaza Solangi said, for his part, that Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) and Iran's Audiovisual Media Regulatory Authority (SATRA), the Directorate of Electronic Media and Publications, Pakistan Television and Iran's audiovisual and cinema sector are working on MoUs to promote cooperation.
The minister added that a memorandum of understanding has already been signed between the Associated Press of Pakistan and the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), and Pakistan is keen to promote cooperation with Iran in the fields of film and drama as well.
