The president of Pakistan's Karachi Editors Club calls for media cooperation with Iran both in broadcast and academic areas.

Iran PressIran News:  In his exclusive interview with Iran Press, the Pakistani president of Karachi Editors Club, Mobasher Mir said that the media cooperation between Iran and Pakistan could be enhanced provided that the political will exists.

He pointed out to Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) and suggested that the Iranian TV channel Sahar's authorities, especially those of Sahar TV Urdu channel, approach PEMRA to lend lights in Pakistan so that more Pakistanis can benefit from the TV channel broadcasts of different programs.

Whereas Sahar TV is the name of an Iranian TV channel that is part of Sahar Universal Network which is the branch of Islamic Republic of Iran World Service Broadcasting responsible for broadcasting programs internationally via its Azeri, Balkan, Kurdish and Urdu language television channels.

In his interview with Iran Press correspondent, Mir also pointed out to the Iranian and Pakistani nations' ties as well as the huge potentials of cooperation in further areas including political and economic ones, especially within the energy sector.

The Pakistani senior journalist stressed on boosting economic ties with Iran referred to the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), Pakistan and Iran are members of which, due to the huge energy sources in the region.

The high-level Pakistani journalist also stressed on the tourism industry which will be improved through creating a shipping route between Karachi and Bandar Abbas ports, and securing ground route connecting Quetta (the capital of Balochistan, Pakistan to Iran's Taftan and Mashhad.
