Bosnia and Herzegovina (IP) - The 28th commemoration ceremony of the genocide in Srebrenica, east of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was observed with the presence of Iranian officials.

Iran PressEurope: It was on July 11, 1995, the Bosnian Serb army under the command of Ratko Mladic colluded with the Dutch peacekeeping forces stationed at Srebrenica and entered the city, committing the biggest massacre in Europe after the Second World War within a few days.

Just in three days, more than 10,000 people were estimated killed in Srebrenica and its surrounding areas, yet the final number of the people massacred was announced at 8,372 people, and many of them are still missing.

Simultaneously with the commemoration of the massacre's 28th anniversary, the body remnants of 30 newly searched martyrs were buried in the Potočari cemetery of Srebrenica.  

More than 3,000 people in Bosnia and Herzegovina and other regions of the world came to Srebrenica to participate in the commemoration of the genocide's victims.

The Caretaker of the Iranian Embassy to Sarajevo Mashallah Shakeri along with other Iranian diplomats a delegation from Iran attended the ceremony on Tuesday evening.
