Tehran (IP) - The Iranian Oil Minister who departed Tehran to Qatar, arrived in Doha on Sunday, to accompany the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran who will attend the sixth meeting of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF).

Iran PressMiddle East: GECF is a newly established organization established on December 23, 2008, by Iran, Russia, Qatar, and a number of other gas exporting countries.

Iranian Oil Minister Javad Oji arrived in Doha, Qatar, to attend the 6th Summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), slated to be held in Doha on Tuesday.

The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran will pay an official visit to Qatar tomorrow, Monday, in addition to bilateral meetings and attending the summit of the Gas Exporting Countries.

The 5th GECF Summit was convened in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, on November 29, 2019, under Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, President of Equatorial Guinea. President of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari attended the Meeting.

Members of the Assembly of Gas Exporting Countries control 44% of world gas production, 60% of world gas reserves, 64% of pipeline gas transmission, and 66% of liquefied natural gas (LNG) trade.

Algeria, Bolivia, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Iran, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Russia, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela are the 11 prominent GECF members, and the Netherlands, Norway, Iraq, Oman, Peru, the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the UAE participate as observer members in GECF.
