Iran Press/Iran news: Out of the 217 MPs present in an open session of the parliament on Saturday, 177 voted in favor of the budget, 24 voted against, and 1 MP abstained from the vote.
Thus the overwhelming majority of the MPs approved next year's budget (1398 on the Iranian calendar), Iran Press reported.
The budget estimates total government revenues for 2019 (1398 on the Iranian calendar) to be 17,443,160 billion and 230 million Rials.
The approved budget bill also sets aside 14 billion dollars for the purchase and provision of basic and essential items.
The budget also calls for a minimum increase of 4,000,000 Rials to the wages and salaries of all government employees, civil servants, and pension payments of retired government employees.105/211
