The president of Islamic Palestinian council in Lebanon and overseas, Mohammed Nemer Zaghmout, stressed that Muslim countries have reached a new level in which many Muslims do not wish to be differentiated into sects.

Iran PressIran news: "We have reached a level that lots of Muslims start to resist differentiation between the Sunni, Shia, Alevi and Zaydi, etc", The president of Islamic Palestinian council in Lebanon and overseas, Mohammed Nemer Zaghmout, said in an exclusive interview with Iran Press.

The president of Islamic Palestinian council in Lebanon and overseas added: "Nowadays if you ask a Muslim guy "who are you ? He will say: "I am a Muslim". He won't say that I am a Muslim Shia, or I am a Muslim Sunni. He thinks it's enough for him to say I am a Muslim."

Mohammed Nemer Zaghmout also pointed out to the results of the International Islamic Unity Conference and said: "In previous International Islamic Unity Conferences, and also in this conference, Muslims did not and don't wish to be categorized into sects or denominations. Muslims don't want to be divided into Sunnis and Shias, etc. They don't want to be differentiated into Sunnis and Shias."

Islamic Palestinian council in Lebanon's president also noted: "Now the Islamic unity conference is beginning to bear fruit. Earlier efforts which were outcome of this conference, are coming into fruition."

He ended the interview by saying: "This is only one of the results of International Islamic Unity Conference."

The 32nd International Islamic Unity Conference opened in Tehran on Saturday and will continue through Monday.
