Iran Press/Asia: "It is necessary for countries to base their relations upon multilateralism and diplomacy," Mohammad Javad Zarif told reporters upon his arrival at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in the Azerbaijani capital city of Baku late on Tuesday.
Iranian Foreign Minister who is in Baku to attend the Ministerial Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), added the main objective of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) is to boost multilateralism.
"The 18th NAM summit preceded by the foreign ministerial meeting will also provide an opportunity for the high-ranking officials to hold talks on the sidelines of the events," he noted.
The meeting of foreign ministers of the Non-Aligned Movement will be held on Wednesday and Thursday of this week, ahead of the 18th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Conference being held in Baku, the capital city of the Azerbaijan Republic.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani also will depart for Baku to attend the summit of the Non-Aligned Movement on Friday this week.
The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) is a forum of 120 states supporting the interests and priorities of the developing countries. It was established during the Afro-Asian conference in Indonesia's Bandung in 1955 with the aim of negotiation on the common concerns and developing common policies in international relations. 101
