Iran Press/ Iran News: After hearing the second report of the Economic Commission on the value-added tax (VAT) bill, Iranian lawmakers approved taxes and duties on certain commodities such as jewelry, gold, platinum, carbonated beverages, cigarettes, and items endangering health.
A member of the presiding board of the parliament (Majlis) read out the agenda for Monday's open session as follows:
Report of the Judicial and Legal Commission on adding some articles to the Law on the Implementation of Article 49 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Economic Commission report on the bill establishing eight free trade zones and 12 special economic zones.
Report of the Judicial and Legal Commission on the Bill on the Protection of the Environment guards and Foresters.
Report of the Special Commission on the Protection of National Production and Supervision of the Implementation of Article 44 of the Constitution on the exemption of Refah Kargaran Bank from the ceiling of non-government commercial banks allowance.
Majlis exempted hybrid and low fuel consumption vehicles from paying taxes.
