Iran Press/Middle East: Two fighter groups carried out the operation on Sunday that targeted two Israeli vehicles on the road to the Avivim barracks, outside Sheba'a Farms.
One of the vehicles escaped the Lebanese fighters’ fire, but the other one was totally destroyed leaving all those on board killed or wounded, announced by the Lebanese resistance group, reported Iran press.
According to some news reports the Commander of Israeli Army's Northern Division, Afif Kukhafi, was killed in the Hezbollah's attack.
Following the attack, Israel's military has fired at least forty shells towards the border village of Maroun al-Ras and Yaroun in south Lebanon, according to Al-Manar TV.
The Israeli army used phosphoric bombs and ordered residents near the border with Lebanon to remain inside and open their bomb shelters. ?
Meanwhile, Lebanese prime minister Saad Hariri held telephone calls with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo as well as an adviser to French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss the latest developments at the border with Israel.
Hariri has reportedly urged the US and France to intervene after escalation with Israel.
The intelligence section of the Israeli army has reportedly banned disclosure of any details on the Hezbollah’s attack. However, Israeli media, have reported that four Israeli soldiers have been injured in the incident.
Israeli Defense Army spokesman Afikhay Adrai announced halting Israeli artillery attacks and drones in southern Lebanon.
He said that It seems the current conflict with Hezbollah is over, but the Israeli forces are still on full alert.
