Iran Press/Middle East: "We adhere to our oil rights and are optimistic about the possibility of achieving a great victory in this issue," Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah said on Saturday, during a televised speech on the anniversary of Resistance and Liberation Day, which marks the day on which the south of Lebanon was liberated from the Israeli occupation after nearly two decades on May 25, 2000.
The maritime dispute between the two sides runs over a sea zone of about 800 square kilometers. The underlying Levant basin of the Eastern Mediterranean has been proven to contain large natural gas reserves, probably even crude oil.
“Israel and the US recognize Lebanon’s power and are plotting to get rid of it. Lebanon is no longer seen as weak but as strong. The conflicts in the Persian Gulf, as well as the threats facing Iran, are related to the Deal of the Century," he added according to al-Manar TV.
Nasrallah said "The statement of the Lebanese President and the army’s leadership on the adherence to the liberation of the Shabaa farms was strong. What happened on May 25, 2000, had very important consequences. We support the state and stand with it regarding the demarcation of borders and adherence to all rights in land and water. We thank all those who offered sacrifices until the liberation was achieved."
Hezbollah Secretary-General also stressed the support for Palestinian cause and right of refugees to return to their homeland.
The Hezbollah chief said that the so-called ‘Deal of the Century’ aims to end the Palestinian cause, calling for a huge turnout in Quds Day rallies next Friday to support the Palestinian cause.
He added that Lebanese refuse Palestinian refugees’ settlement in Lebanon and stress the right to return. 101/205
