Resistance forces of Iraq have conducted UAV strikes on a US military facility near the northeastern Syrian city of Qamishli, along the Turkish border.

Iran PressMiddle East: According to the al-Mayadeen news channel, the strikes, directed at the Hemo base, situated west of Qamishli Airport, occurred early on Thursday.

The report says that the Hemo base, which accommodates around 350 US soldiers, is considered vital for US occupation forces in Syria.

These attacks follow recent reports of troop evacuations from the base due to Resistance faction attacks.

An Iraqi media source reported that Thursday’s operation marks the second attack on the Hemo base since October 7th, when the Zionist regime launched a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip.

Resistance groups based in Iraq have repeatedly targeted US bases on Iraqi and Syrian territories with missiles and UAVs over the past weeks in retaliation for the Zionists' crimes against the people of Palestine in Gaza; they are outraged at the US military presence in the region as they see the US as a source of instability besides Washington’s support for the Zionist regime in its ongoing war on Gaza.
