Iraq Parliament Ready to Hold Vote of Confidence Session

Iraqi lawmakers will hold a vote of confidence session on Prime Minister-designate Mustafa Al-Kazemi’s suggested cabinet.

Iran Press/Middle East: According to a member of Iraq's Parliamentarian Hussein Arab, the session will either be held on Monday 5 May after iftar or on Tuesday in the parliament’s conference hall.

All preventive measures will be taken during the session and MPs will be seated further apart for their health protection.

“After receiving the names, a date will be set to hold an extraordinary session to give confidence to the new cabinet,” Iraqi Parliamentarian explained.

Parliamentary and political circles assure that the government will be passed and differences over some portfolios may be resolved.

Meanwhile, the controversy over Mustafa Al-Kazemi and his approach has also been settled, paving the way for the government to gain confidence.

Iraqi parliamentarian Hussein Arab stated that he is to certain that confidence will be gained despite some differences among blocs, noting that the issues in question are not significant.

Former MP Haider al-Mulla also told that Mustafa Al-Kazemi’s government will be passed especially that the political forces have agreed on him, noting that the differences over some details will not impede the voting process.
