Iran Press/Iran News: Saeed Namaki added that the Islamic Republic of Iran was going to purchase the foreign-licensed vaccine from COVAX.
COVAX is one of three pillars of the Access to COVID-19 Tools (ACT) Accelerator, which was launched in April by the World Health Organization (WHO), the European Commission and France in response to this pandemic.
Namaki explained that Iran would prove the Iranian made vaccine is better than others because it has a 100-year legacy of producing vaccine at Razi and Pasteur institutes.
Referring to the latest situation of the COVID-19 outbreak in the country, he said fortunately, there are no red zones in the country, but 108 cities are regarded as orange and 340 as yellow zones.
Roads and communication ministries, Red Crescent Society, IRIB and Basij have been supporting and cooperating with the health ministry to combat COVID-19, Namaki stressed.
In Iran yet there is no trace of newly mutated virus surged in the UK which is too dangerous and deadly, while it even has spread to some countries, said the minister.
Buses, subways, and crowded places, and throwing parties are the hub for the virus to surge, he added.
According to Namaki, last week was the deadliest week in the world challenging the coronavirus because the trace of newly mutation COVID-19 surged in the UK has even been found in Japan.
Compared to other countries combating COVID-19, the Islamic Republic of Iran is in suitable condition with less death toll, hospitalizations, and infections, the health minister concluded.
