Iran Press/ Iran News: In a telephone conversation with the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, Ebrahim Raisi said that the civilizational and historical record of Iran and India is a good ground for the development of bilateral, regional, and international cooperation between Tehran and New Delhi.
Raisi considered the development of ties with India as important, especially in the fields of transit, energy, and regional security, calling for the expansion of transportation cooperation, including in the North-South corridor and faster implementation of the Chabahar Port joint project in southern Iran.
Narendra Modi, for his part, stressed the implementation of the Chabahar Port project to be a regional transportation hub and considered it an opportunity for the prosperity of the region.
He emphasized India's readiness to finalize the cooperation document between the two countries in order to complete the project.
He also expressed his sympathy with the Iranian nation and government over the recent terrorist attack on the Shah Cheragh shrine in Shiraz, southern Iran.
