In recent years, US sanctions have targeted Iran's medical and pharmaceutical equipment, disrupting the lives and treatment of terminally ill and cancer patients. But Iranian companies, relying on domestic experts' knowledge, produce many drugs in the country and even export them.

Attending a press briefing on Saturday, Bahram Daraei stated: "We have signed memoranda of understanding with the syndicates to facilitate the conditions for drug exports."

He announced that a particular line had been set up for the export of medicine to pave the way for expanding the Iranian pharmaceutical market in other countries.

Three years after Iran's drug list closure, 21 items of medicine for particular and incurable patients entered the list.

"With the opening of the drug list, we will allow companies to continue research and development and import new drugs and technologies," Daraei said.
