Iran Press/Iran news: Members of the Iranian parliament (Majlis) have presented a 10-point anti-US plan to the Majlis presiding board, a member of the board revealed on Saturday
The plan obliges the government to "retake American and British revenues from Iranian oil after the 28 Mordad coup (August 1953 coup d’etat) and also to redeem the rights of the victims of the coup", Iran Press reported.
According to the lawmakers, among the plans also is one to support anti-arrogance research institutes, as well as barring representatives of foreign media outlets whose countries support US sanctions against Iran.
Another plan calls on the government to sue Hollywood and the US media, including television, “for insulting the Iranian nation and history."
There are also plans to support the production of anti-American movies as well as to sanction some US officials, he said.
Yet another of the points in the plan consists of obliging “military forces to reveal America’s military and security information in West Asia within national interests.”
Exactly 66 years ago, in August 1953, the US overthrew the popularly elected democratic government of Dr. Mossadegh, restoring the dictatorship & subjugating Iranians for the next 25 years.
The 1953 Iranian coup d’etat was a crime that was planned in London and Washington and led to the overthrow of Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddeq in favour of strengthening the monarchical rule of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi on August 19 of that year.
The British government plotted a military putsch against the Mohammad Mossaddegh government because the premier played a key role in the country’s 1951 movement that resulted in the nationalisation of Iran’s oil industry.
The US was initially opposed to the coup. However, in August 1953, British and American intelligence agencies initiated the coup by the Iranian military, setting off a series of events, including riots in the streets of the capital, Tehran, which led to the overthrow and arrest of Mossaddegh.
After the coup, the US expanded its influence in Iran for more than 20 years. According to a declassified document published in 2003, the CIA admitted to orchestrating the August 1953 coup. 101/211/205
