Tehran (IP) - The legal advisor of the Iranian Football Federation said that Iran has complained to the CAS court about the calculations of the Asian Football Confederation to introduce the teams of the Beach Soccer World Cup.

Iran PressIran News: Gholamreza Rafiei, Legal Adviser of the Football Federation of Iran, after the elimination of the Iranian national beach soccer team from the 2021 World Cup in Russia and the selection of Bahrain as the host of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers regarding the latest status of Iran's complaint to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) said: "In matters within the jurisdiction of the courts, it is not possible to guarantee a result."

Referring to the cancellation and postponement of the World Cup Futsal and Beach Soccer qualifiers, Rafiei added: "The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has decided to select Japan, UAE, and Oman to participate in the World Cup and Iran was officially eliminated."

Rafiei said: "According to the AFC calculation, the scores of the three Asian Championships in 2015, 2017, and 2019 were reviewed and finally it was announced that the teams of Japan, UAE, and Oman are participating in the World Cup in Russia."

The legal advisor of the Iranian Football Federation added: "According to the scores, Japan is first, Iran is second, Oman is third and the UAE is in the fourth place, so the UAE team should be excluded from the competition and in fact, the calculation of the AFC and the Iranian Football Federation is completely different."
