Pretoria (IP) – The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran met and talked with the President of South Africa in Pretoria over expanding relations.

Iran PressAfrica:  Hossein Amir Abdollahian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who has traveled to Pretoria as the head of a delegation on the first official bilateral visit to participate in the 15th meeting of the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between Iran and South Africa, met with Cyril Ramaphosa, the South African President and talked about expanding bilateral relations. 

This morning, Amir Abdollahian also met and talked with South African Foreign Minister Naledi Pandor and after the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Iran and South Africa, the 15th meeting of the Joint Commission on Cooperation between Iran and South Africa was held, and the statement of this meeting was signed by Amir Abdollahian and Pandor.

At the 15th meeting of the Iran-South Africa Joint Commission in Pretoria, the bilateral economic, trade and investment, political, social, and cultural committees examined 26 documents, which are likely to be signed during the upcoming visit of Ebrahim Raisi, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran to South Africa.

In the framework of constructive interaction with the world, the Islamic Republic of Iran does not only have a one-dimensional view of European countries but extending ties with the continent of Africa and Asia is emphasized by Tehran.

The vast African market is a suitable platform for selling Iranian goods, and in such a situation, the Black Continent has a special place in the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
